About Organisation

The Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) are an initiative of the Government of India, established to provide quality education to tribal children across the country. These schools are managed and funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

Each EMRS is typically governed by a School Management Committee (SMC), comprising representatives from the tribal community, education experts, and government officials. The SMC oversees the functioning of the school, including academic curriculum, infrastructure development, student welfare, and community engagement.

The schools follow a residential model, providing accommodation, meals, and educational facilities to students from tribal communities. They aim to bridge the gap in educational opportunities between tribal and non-tribal populations by offering a holistic and culturally sensitive learning environment.

Additionally, EMRS often collaborate with various stakeholders including non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic institutions, and local communities to enhance the educational institution and address the specific needs of tribal students.
